SRINAGAR: National Conference MLA Syed Bashir Ahmad Veeri is scheduled to introduce three key Private Members’ Bills focusing on environmental protection and social justice during the upcoming session of the Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
Private Members’ Bill No. 23 of 2025 seeks to restore and protect the River Jhelum by ensuring ecological sustainability through strict waste management regulations and penalties for pollution.
The second proposal, Private Members’ Bill No. 25 of 2025, aims to regulate and prevent the destruction of Karewas resulting from the excavation of clay, sand, gravel, and other materials, in order to preserve these distinctive geological formations.
Meanwhile, Private Members’ Bill No. 24 of 2025 seeks to amend the Jammu Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004, to strengthen the implementation of reservation policies across the Union Territory.
