Opposition National Conference (NC) MLAs on Saturday staged a walkout in the assembly over setting up of an army camp in Shamsipora Home-Shalibugh area of south Kashmir. 

Nc Legislator Abdul Majeed Larmi stood up from their seat and demand the statement from the government whether the Indian army was vacating a piece of land in Kulgam district or not.

Responding to the MLA, Speaker Kavinder Gupta said that he is dramatizing every time and he didn’t allow him to speak.

Larmi stormed into the well and demanded a statement and staged a ruckus for 10 minutes in the house. 

The residents of Shamsipora village of Anantnag district on Friday protested for the second consecutive day against the establishment of an army camp in the village.

Independent legislator and MLA Langate Engineer Rashid also joined the protests and after listening to the locals met deputy commissioner Islamabad to apprise him about the issue.

Meanwhile, the residents have threatened of an agitation if the army camp was not removed immediately.
