According to letter, the MP highlighted that the posts of Chairperson of the Board of Governors (BoG), Director, and Registrar have remained unfilled for over three years, affecting the institute’s administration and academic functioning.

Stressing NIT Srinagar’s role as an Institute of National Importance, Altaf urged the ministry to prioritize these appointments to ensure smooth operations and support the institute’s development. He noted that despite repeatedly raising the issue, no action has been taken so far.

The letter pointed out that the absence of these key positions has led to delays and inefficiencies in decision-making, impacting both academic and administrative activities. Altaf emphasized that prompt action would strengthen the institution and help it fulfill its mandate effectively.
