The National Conference while paying glowing tributes to its founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah said that he denotes the state’s high qualities of pluralistic ethos and communal harmony.

“Sheikh Sahib was a man who always spread the message of peace, not only in the state but with the neighbouring countries.  He was a statesman par excellence who had compassion in his heart and a great intellect of the mind and carried this with great humility,” the party leaders in a statement issued on Tuesday.

“Sher-e-Kashmir was the aspirations of people of J-K and symbol of unity and amity. He nurtured and strengthened this characteristic and cemented the bonds of love between various sections of the society and different regions of the state,” they added.
