Expressing grief and sorrow over Naik’s demise, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah said Naik’s demise had created a vacuum in the state’s politics that would be hard to fill.

Extending their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, Dr. Abdullah and Omar prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Highlighting Late Naik’s contributions to the state and the party, Dr Abdullah said Naik’s will-power and courage, despite his prolonged illness was a reflection of his dedication and conviction in serving the party and the people he strived hard to represent in sickness and health alike.

Omar in his statement said “Naik’s legacy was that of honesty, perseverance and persistence – virtues that should be emulated by all public servants for the betterment of the state and the society.” “Party had lost an honest, virtuous and visionary leader in Naik.”
