NC Starts Membership Drive From South Kashmir

Seeking new enthusiasm out of the recent poll victory over PDP, the ruling National Conference (NC) on Tuesday started its membership drive from Islamabad district which was inaugurated by Party General Secretary Advocate Sheikh Nazir Ahmed at the party headquarters Nawia-Subh.

South Kashmir was believed to be the stronghold of PDP, but during the recently held LC polls, NC got a considerable number of votes of punchs and sarpanchs from it.

Kick starting the first phase of the process Khurporu, Dachnipora, Dooru Shahbad, Kokernag Shangus and Islamabad blocks, Sheikh Nazir said that the National Conference through this drive should spread message of the party to each and every corner of the state.

While speaking on the occasion, Nazir exhorted the workers to enroll more and more persons as members of the party. He said that membership drive was an opportunity to establish contact with maximum number of people and to educate them about the policies and programmes of the party.

“It was duty of the party workers to properly educate the people about the visionary policies and programmes of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and the party, Nazir said.

He said the party represents the aspiration of all the sections of the society and all the regions. He added that NC is the only party which can and will safe guard the interest of the people and ensure that our special status is never diluted.

Nazir appealed to people to make the drive successful.
