National Conference provincial president Devender Singh Rana on Tuesday said that the party will launch “jihad” against the BJP and its alleged malpractices and corruption. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu.

Earlier in the day, Rana and another NC MLA from Bishnah staged a walkout from the District Development Board (DDB) review meeting being chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh in the winter capital.

“The BJP has become a den of corruption. The Prime Minister talks about ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vikas’ but BJP ministers in J&K believe in ‘apna saath, apna vikas’,” Rana said.

He said that during the DDB meeting, the Deputy CM didn’t allow the NC legislators to raise questions. “I had asked the Deputy CM that why only 50 per cent of the macadamisation work in Jammu district had been completed so far as after November 15, no such work could be taken up,” he said.

“But the Deputy CM was more interested in blacktopping the road leading to his house and the circuit and guest houses where VVIP movement takes place,” the NC leader alleged.

Rana said the NC would go to people and expose the BJP’s alleged corruption and malpractices as they represent people in the state legislature and DDB meetings.
