Senior National Conference leader and Minister for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone Thursday said that NC under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah will emerge as single largest party in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Addressing an election rally in his native village Naidkhai in Sonwari, Bandipora, Lone said, “In the last almost six years the NC led coalition government left no stone unturned in mitigating the sufferings of common people. But some political parties who have vested interests have launched false propaganda against the NC.”

“People of Jammu and Kashmir will give befitting reply to these opportunists who have always worked against the interests of people of the state,” he added.

Highlighting the achievements of present government, Lone said, “Passing of RTI Act PSGA Act have made the functioning in government offices transparent. Though there might be some lacunas still, these will be taken care of when NC forms the next government.”

Lone appealed the people to vote the candidates on the basis of their performance. “Kashmiris are wise enough to make distinction between right and wrong. NC is party of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah sahib who always championed the cause of Kashmiris and ensured they are empowered,” he added.

The Minister expressed confidence that NC will win enough seats to form the government on its own in the ensuing elections.
