Protests were held at Nawa-i-Subah, the National Conference headquarters in Srinagar, as well as at district headquarters and other locations across the Valley, where party workers raised slogans in support of restoring statehood.

The protesters urged the Central Government to honour its commitment to restore statehood, stating that the assurance had been made in Parliament and before the Supreme Court.

Party workers said the restoration of statehood was essential for effective governance and for safeguarding the rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) president Farooq Abdullah led a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The demonstration coincided with the opening day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session and was organised to press the Central Government for the immediate restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
