GANDERBAL

Some youth tried to disrupt the People’s Democratic Party rally in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday.

Eyewitnesses said that PDP parliament candidate for Srinagar Tariq Hameed Karra was about to address a rally at Bhadargund Ganderbal when at least five youth appeared and raised pro-freedom and pro-election boycott slogans. The youth tried to pelt stones on the people present in the rally.

Reports said that PDP leader Qazi Afzal slapped one of the youth and pushed others back after which some youth supporters of PDP stood up and chased them away. “I didn’t push anybody as I know them all because they are the supporters of National Conference. We are against the hooliganism and we even requested police not to register any case against the youth though police was ready to initiate action them,” Afzal said. (CNS)
