People’s Democratic Party (PDP) youth president, Waheed-Ur-Rehman Sunday said the present government is reaching out to the youth through books, knowledge and effective life planning skills.

“Every creative approach is adopted to reach out to the youth. Be it through reforms in educations system, opening libraries or enhancing their skills. Unlike the previous National Conference government’s which would always reach out to youth through bullet and police station,” he said while addressing a youth convention in Sonawari constituency.

Para asserted the party’s commitment to provide the youth of Jammu and Kashmir a level playing field and opportunities of growth and progress.

He said the emancipated and highly educated youth force is J&K’s asset which needs to be utilized in giving a new direction to the state.

“We can’t afford to ignore the youth who have come a long way and want a respectable space to contribute.”

Castigating the opposition National Conference for resorting to political rhetoric and falsehood, Para said people of the state know it well who their well-wisher is.

“Nothing can be achieved by resorting to falsehood. But everyone here, has a duty to contribute for peace and progress of the state,” he said.

He said the PDP-led government is working on a mission to establish a lasting peace, ensure focused development and create meaningful job opportunities for the youth.

“Though a lot needs to be done but the government has made a good beginning through some historic reformative measures which will create an enabling environment on the ground,” he added.

Para said people need to come forward with their issues and grievances and there is a government which is sincere and honest to listen and help them in addressing their problems.
