SRINAGAR: National Conference on Wednesday wrote to the Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir and also the Election Commission of India (ECI) and put on record serious apprehensions and concerns about the electoral process ahead of a re-poll on 28 booths of the Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency and sought certain safeguards and steps to uphold the integrity of the democratic process.

The party sought specific safeguards and measures from the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in light of the unforeseen and unprecedented circumstances and the questionable role of the State Government and the Administration during election on the 9th of April.

A Senior NC Delegation earlier called on the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and highlighted these concerns before officially writing to the CEO and the Election Commission to put these points on record.
