National Conference Parliamentarians Hasnain Masoodi and Mohammad Akbar Lone released an amount of Rs one crore each from their MPLAD funds on Sunday to combat the spread of the coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The party leaders released an amount of Rs one crore each from their MPLAD funds from his MPLAD funds to combat the COVID-19 threat in Jammu and Kashmir,” a National Conference (NC) spokesperson said.

The spokesman said that Masoodi following the footsteps of party president Dr Farooq Abdullah released Rs 25 lac from MPLADs for each 4 district hospitals of south Kashmir for procurement of emergency medical equipment necessary for fighting the COVID-19 Epidemic.

He said that Hasnain Masoodi assured to take up the issue of shortage of ventilators in district hospitals of Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian with administration very soon to enable hospitals of south Kashmir to cater to needs of patients in case of any eventuality.

Hasnain Masoodi assured to release more funds for District hospital Anantnag as it caters the health needs of 1.5 million people. Measures are being taken so that masks and sanitizers are kept available to the public at all health facilities of south Kashmir.

The NC Spokesperson said the party MP from north Kashmir’s Baramulla, Mohammad Akbar Lone, also released an amount of Rs one crore to fight the coronavirus outbreak in his constituency.

The amount would be equally distributed among Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora– the three north Kashmir districts that were part of Lone’s constituency, the spokesperson added.
