SRINAGAR: Gujjar activist Choudhary Irshad Khatana in a series of tweets has accused National Conference’s Member of Parliament (Anantnag), Hasnain Masoodi of favouring Pulwama over other three South Kashmir districts he represents in the Lok Sabha. This is in reference to the Rs 1.75 crore that he released for counter-Covid19 measures from his MPLADS.

A facsimile of the letter that HUsnanin Masoodi sent to DC Anantnag while releasing Rs 1.75 crore from the MPLADS.

Out of Rs 1.75 crore, Khatana alleged, Masoodi resorted to unfair distribution. He gave Rs 1.15 crore to district Pulwama and a mere amount of just Rs 25 lakhs for Anantnag and Rs 15 lakh each to Shopian and Kulgam.

Khatana, in one of his tweets, also tagged Omar Abdullah and Masoodi with a question: “Sir is there will be preparing for Assembly seat of Masoodi sab’s home Assembly segment. Or Votes of Anantnag have half price in comparison with pulwama.” (sic) The Gujjar activist has actually used Masoodi’s letter to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to get the details of its allocations within South Kashmir.

Interestingly, Masoodi has not been using his Twitter since his last meeting with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, when he accompanied Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar. He has avoided responding to the sensation that Khatan’s tweets seemingly created on social media. Khatana lives somewhere in Pahalgam.

Right now, in the entire south Kashmir, Anantnag and Pulwama are reporting more Covid19 cases. Interestingly, Pulwama has one of the best hospitals in the region.
