Social Welfare Minister and National Conference candidate for Noorabad Constituency Sakina Itoo Saturday filed a formal complaint before Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir against her rival PDP candidate for allegedly filing a ‘wrong and misleading’ affidavit for Assembly elections 2014.

Addressing a news conference, National Conference candidate for Noorabad constituency Sakina Itoo alleged that Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the same constituency Abdul Majeed Paddar has entered ‘misleading and wrong’ information about his educational qualification and movable and immovable assets in his latest affidavit. “How can Paddar claim that he is  9th pass, when the reality is that he is illiterate and has never attended any school,” Itoo told reporters.

She according to CNS said that the affidavit filed for 2008 Assembly elections by Paddar shows that he is a matriculate while in his recent affidavit, he has entered his educational qualification as 9th pass,” Itoo said adding that similarly PDP candidate in 2008 affidavit had declared his assets up to the tune off Rs 26 lakhs but in his recent affidavit he has shown his assets in crores.

“Leave aside the affidavit he (Paddar) had filed in 2008. For 2014 Assembly elections, he has filed two affidavits. In November 13, 2014 affidavit, Paddar has shown his assets worth Rs 58 lakhs but on the next day one more affidavit filed by him reveals that his total assets are worth Rs one crore 87 lakhs,” she said.

National Conference candidate who won the 2008 Assembly elections from Noorabad by a margin of 4,518 votes defeating PDP candidate Abdul Aziz Zargar said that she has already filed a formal complaint before ECI and Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir and has appealed them to take appropriate action against the PDP candidate under law.
