In a public notice issued on May 22, 2026, the agency said candidates may log in to the NEET-UG registration portal using their credentials and access the refund link to furnish bank account information required for processing refunds.

The facility will remain available from May 22 to May 27, 2026, up to 11:50 pm, according to the notice.

Candidates have been asked to provide details such as the account holder’s name, bank name, account number and IFSC code. Submission of a cancelled cheque has been made optional for verification purposes.

The NTA stated that the information submitted will be treated as final and no subsequent corrections will be allowed. It also advised candidates against initiating chargeback requests for the examination fee.

The development follows the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026, held on May 3 for over 22 lakh candidates, after allegations of irregularities in the examination process. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan later announced that a re-examination would be conducted on June 21.

The NTA had earlier clarified that no additional examination fee would be charged for the re-test and that fees already paid by candidates would be refunded.

The NEET-UG 2026 examination was cancelled after investigations reportedly found that a pre-circulated handwritten “guess paper” closely matched questions in the actual test. Following allegations of organised paper leaks and malpractice, the Centre ordered a CBI investigation and announced a re-examination.
