Unlike all other lawmakers who drove home within days after being inducted into the council of ministers last fortnight, Nazir Khan Gurezi and Viqar Rasool waited a bit. They finally made it to their home constituencies on Saturday.

Official spokesman said Jr Minster for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Agriculture and Floriculture, Nazir Ahmed Gurezi flew to remote Gurez and undertook an extensive tour to various areas of remote and far-flung border areas. His emphasis was to check stock of supply and distribution of food grains, firewood besides snow clearance. This was his first visit to Gurez in remote Bandipore after being inducted as a minister. His followers received him well and he spoke to gathering at Dawer, Markote, Wonpora, Khandyal and Mastan villages.

Congressman Viqar Rasool who is Jr minister for Technical Education, Information, RDD and Law also visited his Banihal constituency on Saturday. Pictures released by the state spokesman shows a turbaned Viqar speaking to a good gathering.

All other lawmakers who were inducted in the council immediately arranged public gatherings in their areas. In fact, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took his two Kupwara ministers Mir Saifullah and Chowhadry Ramzan along with his newly appointed provincial president Nasir Sogami and talked to a larger gathering in the frontier township.
