SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a militant of proscribed outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession.
A police spokesman in a statement said that based on a specific input regarding presence of militants in check chandrageer area of Hajin , a joint CASO was conducted by Bandipora police, 13RR, and C Coy IRP 8th Bn where one militant namely Subzar Ahmad rather @ Aatish Bhai R/o Awneera Shopian was apprehended.
“Incriminating material along with live arms and ammunition ( one 9mm pistol along with pistol magazine and 4 live rounds) were recovered from the possession of the said person,” said the spokesman.
“He joined proscribed militant outfit LeT recently and was tasked to carry out subversive activities in and around Hajin locality,” he said.
“In this connection FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered in police station Hajin and investigation has been initiated.,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
