The launch witnessed an overwhelming response from commuters. By 4:30 PM on the very first day, nearly 1.2 lakh motorists had purchased and activated the pass, while toll plazas across India recorded around 1.24 lakh seamless transactions through the facility.

Under the new scheme, non-commercial vehicle owners with an active FASTag can opt for a one-time payment of Rs 3,000, which remains valid for one year or 200 toll plaza crossings whichever is earlier. The pass can be instantly purchased and activated within two hours through the Rajmargyatra app or the NHAI website, ensuring convenience right at the user’s fingertips.

With FASTag already achieving 98 percent penetration and benefiting over 8 crore users nationwide, the Annual Pass is set to take the digital toll collection system a step further. It eliminates the hassle of frequent recharges, while offering travelers a more economical, efficient, and stress-free experience on the roads.

Highlighting the significance of the move, the NHAI said, “The introduction of the Annual Pass facility will not only enhance the FASTag user experience but also make journeys on national highways and expressways more seamless.”
