Scores of employees from different districts, including doctors, paramedical staff, and technicians of the health department who are working on a contractual basis under National Health Mission assembled at Press Enclave amid rains demanding their regularization.

The protesting employees said that the strike which started from January 14, 2019, ends tomorrow and the members of the association are going to meet the governor to put forward their demands again.

“We will continue to protest peacefully until we are given full assurance that the required action will be taken,” said the spokesperson of the NHM employees association.

They said that they have been discharging their duties for past twelve years and are working on meagre salaries and don’t even have social security benefits whereas 7th pay commission has been implemented for the permanent employees of the state.

The protesting employees urged the governor to immediately implement the Supreme Court verdict of equal pay for equal work till a policy was framed for regularisation.
