The NHPC authorities have advised the people not to move near Chenab River on July 19, 2018, in view of flushing of the reservoir of Dulhasti Power Station.
“It is notified for the information of the public of Doda and Kishtwar in general and public of village Dul, Benzwar, Cherhar, Bhandarkoot, Hasti, Kandani, Prem Nagar and Pul Doda in particular, that for statutory periodical slit flushing from the reservoir of Dulhasti Power Station, the gates of the dam shall be opened on July 19 (Thursday) from 0:00hrs to 18:00hrs with the result there will be an increase in the flow of water and level of river Chenab may increase 2(two) to 3 (three) meters, ” a NHPC handout stated.
The NHPC has advised the people for restricting the movement of persons, vehicles, and pets along the river bank during this period.
