SRINAGAR: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted searches at eight locations across Srinagar, Sopore and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested two more accused persons in the conspiracy case registered this month in the wake of multiple civilian killings.

The arrested — Amir Ahmad Gojri of Srinagar and Saddat Amin @Syed Arhan of Sopore — along with other arrested accused persons are militant associates or overground workers (OGWs) of various proscribed organisations and have been providing logistical and material support to militants, as per preliminary investigation by the NIA.

The relevant case, registered by NIA on October 10, 2021, relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent acts in J&K and other major cities, by cadres of Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc.

Till now 23 accused persons have been arrested in this case by NIA.

Searches conducted on Friday led to recovery of electronic devices and incriminating jehadi documents/posters etc, said NIA.
