SRINAGAR: Acting on the request of District Police Budgam, the Court of Additional Sessions Judge Budgam has taken a significant step in the ongoing case FIR No 59/2022 under sections 20 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) at Police Station Chadoora.

The court has issued a proclamation against an active militant identified as Aaqib Ahmad Shergojri, son of Nazir Ahmad Shergojri, and a resident of Khampora Sarai Chadoora Budgam.

Under Section 22 of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Act, the NIA Court has now initiated proceedings to bring Aaqib Ahmad Shergojri to justice. This proclamation serves as a legal order compelling the accused to appear before the trial court.

In the pursuit of this legal process, the concerned police authorities have ensured that notices proclaiming Aaqib Ahmad Shergojri as an absconder were prominently displayed at various visible locations, including the main gate of the accused’s residential house. These notices, issued by the police, demand that the proclaimed absconder must present himself before the trial court on or before the specified date of October 3, 2023.
