SRINAGAR: Sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at least a dozen places in parts of Kashmir division on Wednesday morning in connection with a case already registered at NIA office.

Quoting official sources news agency KDC reported that sleuths of NIA accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF raided the residence of Aijaz Ahmad Wani (Tailor) son of Ghulam Nabi Wani, a resident of Barapather area of summer capital Batamaloo. Five mobile phones were seized from his residence, they said adding that at Sir Syed Abad area in Batamaloo probing agency searched the house of Faizan Mushtaq Bhat (Student) son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat. Raid was concluded with the seizure of one mobile phone.

At Baghi Mehtab area of Srinagar sleuths of NIA searched the residential house of Imran Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Rafiq Khan.

Likewise, NIA raided the rented residence of Bilal Ahmad Malik who is a Lab technician by profession at CD hospital Srinagar son of Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Khul Noorabad area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district A/p Lasjan in the house of Habibullah Thakur.

In south Kashmir’s Konibal Pampore area, NIA raided the house of Arif Ahmad Rather son of Habibullah Rather who is a Plumber by profession.

In southern Anantnag district, NIA team headed by deputy superintendent of police in NIA Anil Kumar along with Anantnag Police raided the houses of Ghulam Rather son of Abdul Gaffar Rather and Abdul Rasheed Dar son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar, a resident of Matipora Mattan.

In northern Kashmir NIA team accompanied by Sopore Police raided the house of Irfan Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Majeed Mir, a resident of Darpora in Bomai area.

Similarly, probing agency NIA conducted searches in the residential houses of Ghulam Hassan Nijar son of Azam Najar, a resident of Kupwara and Wasim Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Lone Harrie Kralpora in northern Kupwara district.

Sources in NIA confirmed the raids and said these raids were conducted in connection with a case already registered at NIA.

“Incriminating material, mobile phones besides other digital devices were seized by the agency for further investigation,” they said adding that further details will be shared later.
