Octogenarian Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday condemned the arbitrary and coercive act of raiding the houses of “resistance leadership” and political activists and said that despite the “state sponsored terrorism” the people in state will pursue their struggle for freedom and won’t give up resistance or change their stance.

Reacting to raids conducted by (NIA), the Hurriyat patriarch in a statement said that the NIA has been given this task “just to drag and involve leadership into fabricated cases”.

Geelani said that during day long raids at the residences of Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Meraj u Din Kalwal, the NIA team found nothing except their mobile phones, laptops and documents pertaining to personal properties.

“NIA sleuths after questioning found nothing and it is rather strange that instead making things public, maintained a mysterious silence, and in turn Indian media without any reason and proof assigned unnecessary hype,” the statement said.

“It is well thought out plan to defame movement and resistance leadership,” said Geelani. “It illustrates their frustration and fascist mindset.”

Terming it a mischievous ploy, Geelani while referring to Modi, Doval and Bhagwat, added that they with their military might are involved in prevailing bloodshed.

“They are scared of resistance leadership and commitment of people with freedom movement,” Geelani said adding, “Their main aim is to discredit and defame resistance leadership.”

While commenting over the recent statement of Rajnath Singh, Geelani said people are not scared of these intimidations and until the Kashmir issue is resolved as per aspirations of people, they will pursue their mission with dedication.

Geelani stressed upon the resolution of long pending issue through right to self-determination and said people will strive to fight for their rights till the issue is resolved in accordance with resolutions passed in UN.
