SRINAGAR: National Investigation Agency (NIA) is carrying out raids at multiple locations in Kashmir Valley in connection with a case already registered at the NIA office, officials said on Saturday.
Quoting official sources news agency KDC reported that NIA sleuths with the assistance of police and CRPF is carrying out raids in Baramulla, and south Kashmir’s Shopian.
The probing agency raided the residence of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat, a resident of New Colony Fethpora Baramulla. Mushtaq is a government employee in the education department.
In Shopian, the raid was carried out in the house of Ali Mohammad Bhat son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, a resident of Muradpora.
Similarly, raids are being conducted in other parts of the valley.
An official confirmed to KDC and said raids are being conducted in connection with a case already registered at the NIA office. The details of the case will be shared later, he said.
Another newsgatherer ANI said raids were carried out at four locations in Jammu and Kashmir in The Resistance Front (TRF) case registered by the federal investigator on November 18, 2021 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and sections 13, 17, 18, 18B, 38 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Earlier, NIA on December 30, 2021, carried out searches in Srinagar and arrested one alleged TRF operative Arsalan Feroz alias Arsalan Soub.
