The weather slightly improved in the Kashmir Valley on Sunday with an increase in the minimum temperatures due to a nightlong cloud cover, the weather office said.

“The night temperature across Kashmir Valley improved by several degrees last night due to the cloudy sky,” an official of the Meteorological Department said.

He said that the weather conditions across the Valley would remain dry till December 28.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded 1.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature on Sunday compared to Saturday’s minus 0.4.

Similarly, the minimum temperature improved to minus 7.6 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg compared to Saturday’s minus 9.6. Pahalgam recorded minus 6.8 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 0.3 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 1.3 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 8.7 degrees Celsius, Katra town 6.2, Batote 0.0, Bannihal 0.4 and Bhaderwah minus 1.3 degrees as the minimum temperatures.
