NIT hosts the Model United Nations conference in collaboration with the University of Kashmir

The Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the UN where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real-world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. The student of different universities and colleges in Kashmir registered to participate and debate the various international issues as is done by the diplomats in the United Nations.

A MUN conference is a platform to test the diplomatic abilities, communication, negotiation, and oratory skills of the students and check how psychologically strong they are in seeking the most optimal solutions to multifaceted and open-ended problems.

The inaugural ceremony was held at NIT Srinagar and was presided by the chief guest Director of NIT Srinagar, Prof Rakesh Sehgal. The event was also attended by Prof Kaiser Bukhari (Registrar, NIT Srinagar) and Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir (Registrar, University of Kashmir).
