While terming the death of prominent journalist and Editor of Nawa-I-Waqt and The Nation, Majeed Nizami as national loss, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani expressed his profound grief and shock over his death.

In a condolence message to the Nawa-I-Waqt, Geelani prayed for the peace to the departed soul and said that he equally shares the grief of the family members of Majeed Nizami sahib and staff of the institution and prayed to the almighty Allah for the patience to bear this huge loss, a party statement said on Sunday.

“Majeed Nizami sahib was a bold supporter of the ideological Pakistan and an active and sincere well-wisher of Kashmir cause and today Kashmiris lost their great friend which should be mourned by everyone,” Geelani said.

Geelani said that Nizami sahib were often calling me from Pakistan over phone and asking for my opinion about the important issues regarding the Kashmir cause.

“If he would find any meager fault in the Kashmir policy of Pakistan government, he would ring me up and express his dismay over it,” the statement quoted Hurriyat Patriarch saying.

“The Four Point Formula of General Musharaf was betrayal and treason with the Kashmir cause in view of Late Nizami and he fully agreed with my stand regarding this which he openly expressed,” Geelani said.

“Deceased was considering the freedom of Kashmir as vital for the completion of ideological Pakistan and he was of the view that the geographical boundaries of Pakistan are not safe till its ideological boundaries are not made strong and firm.”

Meanwhile Geelani appealed Imams of the Masaajid to pray for peace to the soul of Late Nizami.
