Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shalinder Kumar Friday said that there will be no curfew on Saturday.

“We have given instructions to police to keep vigil in sensitive areas. There might be slight restrictions in some areas, but overall there will be no curfew,” Kumar told KNS.

“Some vested interested in selected areas try to destabilize the normalcy which creates problems for the people. We appeal to people to play their role in maintaining peace,” he added.

Asked to comment on the restrictions imposed on Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, he declined to comment.

“My job is to see the problems of people and try to solve them,” he said.
