SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo has said that weather conditions across the Kashmir Valley are currently pleasant and no decision has been taken so far regarding the announcement of summer vacations in schools.
Speaking on the sidelines of an official event, she stated that the Education Department’s focus remains on ensuring the timely completion of the academic syllabus and maintaining regular teaching schedules in schools across the Valley.
She added that any decision on summer vacations would be taken only if there is a significant rise in temperatures or any heatwave-like conditions affecting academic activities.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that no fresh order has been issued regarding school summer vacations in the Kashmir division at this stage, and the academic calendar continues to remain in force.
This comes in the backdrop of an earlier government decision announcing summer vacations for all Government and Private Colleges in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division from June 1 to July 15, 2026, as part of the seasonal academic schedule.
