Minister of Communications Ravi Shankar Prasad has said, there is no disruption of essential postal services in Jammu and Kashmir, AIR reported.

Replying to a supplementary during Question Hour in Rajya Sabha today, he said, the delivery of over 4000 passports and 2940 other articles in Jammu and Kashmir during the month of August against all odds deserves appreciation. When asked about e-money order, he said, though the service has been temporarily suspended due to internet restrictions, alternate mode of money transfer has been made available for the public.

Replying to another question, the Minister said, though internet has emerged as an essential tool in everyday life, restrictions on the technology has been put in place in Jammu and Kashmir to check the spread of a poisonous atmosphere that is being sought to be nourished by inimical forces.
