According to a statement issued by the Deputy Drug Controller, Kashmir, in view of lockdown due to Corona virus pandemic, the services of top functionaries of government and Air Force have been utilized to arrange supplies of Anti-Cancer, Nephrology, allied drugs and insulin preparations, requiring special storage conditions and the medicines thus received have been kept at the disposal of needy patients.

Besides, the suppliers, dealers and C&F agents have been asked to maintain a close coordination with the government so that all the essential drugs reach valley well in time for the convenience of patients and their attendants, the statement read.

The statement further elaborated that the supplies received have been distributed among the stockiest and retailers for dispensing among needy patients and the Government will airlift essential medicines for the benefit of patients, as and when required, for which adequate arrangement are in place. The people have been requested not to hoard medicines of any category and not to heed rumors.

The statement also reads that there is no shortage of essentials and generic medicines in the Valley and for any information regarding the availability of medicines, the people have been asked to contact 0194-2495191, 9419-590564, 9419-011570 numbers.

As of now, J&K has reported 114 cases, of which two persons have died while four have recovered. As many as 93 cases have been reported in the Kashmir division while 21 cases were reported from Jammu.
