Due to hailstorm in September this year, heavy losses occurred to the crops in three districts of Kashmir region viz Kupwara, Kulgam and Budgam. But, so far, no report has been received in this regard by the government from the district heads concerned. This information was revealed by government in a written reply to one of the questions of MLC Bashir Ahmad Magray.
It said that losses have occurred to agriculture crops / horticulture crops. However, as per reports of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, there are no reports regarding damage top horticulture crops due to hailstorm in September, 2013 in remaining districts of Kashmir division.
The government assured that funds shall be released as per norms for payment of relief after the final assami-wise assessment report comes from DDCs concerned.
