Police on Thursday said that there will be no restriction in any part of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Eid.

The Director General of Police, K Rajendra Kumar told KNS that there will be no restriction on the eve of Eid in any part of the state.

“There will be no restriction, let people celebrate the auspicious day with full fervour and gaiety,” he said.

Appealing youth to maintain peace, DGP said that people should not act on rumours, like “there will be restrictions on Eid.”

Meanwhile, DGP said that there will be deployment of police personnel outside masjids and eidgahs for the law and order situation purposes. “The deployment outside masjids and eidgahs will be as on routine bases as in the past for the protection of people.”

Meanwhile, DC Srinagar Mushtaq Ahmad Shah said that special Magistrates will be deployed around masjids and eidgahs to personally monitor the situation in Srinagar.

“The special magistrates will keep tight vigil and personally monitor the situation for peaceful law and order situation,” he said.

Shah said that the ground of Eidgha in downtown Srinagar has been dewatered and other necessity works were also done there for the Eid prayers.

“Men and machinery were put into service to dewater the Eidgah ground in Srinagar where one of largest Eid congregational prayers will be held tomorrow,” he said
