SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, affirmed on Saturday that there would be no restrictions imposed on the eve of Independence Day in the region. He also confirmed that internet services and facilities will continue to operate smoothly.

During a press conference, Bidhuri highlighted that all necessary preparations have been completed to ensure a seamless celebration of Independence Day.

In view of the anticipated substantial participation of the public this year, Bidhuri announced a change in the venue for the main event in Srinagar. The location has been shifted from SK Stadium to Bakshi Stadium due to space limitations.

Furthermore, Bidhuri extended an open invitation to the public, encouraging them to attend the Tiranga rally scheduled for tomorrow at 6 AM at the Botanical Garden. He reiterated that there is no requirement for passes to attend the main event on August 15; all are welcome to participate.

Emphasising the priority of security and coordination, Bidhuri assured that the necessary measures have been undertaken to ensure a smooth and safe execution of the 77th Independence Day celebrations throughout Kashmir. (KNO)
