In view of rain, snowfall at various places on NHW since Tuesday evening especially between Zig-Jawahar Tunnel and Banihal – Nowgam road stretches and triggering of landslides/shooting stones at Karol, Mehar, Seeri, Battery Chashma, Gangroo and Digdol, no movement of traffic shall be allowed on Srinagar – Jammu highway tomorrow on Jan 27, reports said.
“No vehicular movement be allowed in between Ramban and Banihal as there are multiple landslides/shooting stones,” reports added.
Similarly no movement shall be allowed on link roads which are slide prone, to avoid any eventuality.
Commuters have been advised not to park their vehicles between Jawahar Tunnel South portal to Nowgam village and between Jawahar Tunnel North portal to Lower Munda under any circumstances.
These areas being dangerous and avalanche zones should be kept free from any kind of traffic, officials said.
People are requested to contact TCU Srinagar (01942450022, 2485386), TCU Ramban (9419993745) and TCU Jammu (01912459048) and officers of Traffic wing to get the status of the road.
