SRINAGAR: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Dhobi Mohalla area of Pantha Chowk in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Saturday late night.
Reports said that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Dhobi Mohalla after militants fired upon Naka party in Pantha Chowk.
Soon after the attack joint team of forces chased the militants, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.

When last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
Earlier, one army man and three local militants affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in an encounter in Zadoora area of Pulwama.
They have been identified by police as Adil Hafiz, Arshid Ahmad Dar and Rouf Ahmad Mir, all residents of Pulwama.
On Friday, four militants of Al Badr, including a commander, were killed in a gunfight at Kiloora in Shopian district.
They were identified as policemen-turned-militant Shakoor Parray, who was Al Badr district commander; Suhail Bhat, Zubair Nengroo and Shakir-ul-Jabbar.
