Police during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday conducted nocturnal raids in Tahab village of Pulwama district, reports said.
Locals said that more than 25 people have been arrested in the raids.
They said that at around 12 during the night the village was cordoned and police and paramilitary forces amid shrieks of people, in large numbers started entering homes.
“Police wreaked havoc by smashing windowpanes and damaging properties,” the locals alleged.
SP Pulwama Raies Muhammad Bhat confirmed that they arrested 20 people form the area on charges of stone pelting.
