Noisy scenes were witnessed in the Legislative Assembly on Friday after Opposition National Conference and congress staged a protest in assembly over the power crisis in Kashmir and staged a walkout.

During the question hour, MLA Budgam Aga Rahullah said the government has failed to ensure regular power supply to Kashmir.

He said the Minister that your officers are not giving you proper information and adding that you should go to kashmir and take the position on the ground.

They shouted slogans like “Bajli Do Kashmir ko “BJP ki Sarakr mai andhera he Andhera hai”

“While the curtailment schedule issued by the PDD is ‘unjust’, people don’t even get electricity as per the curtailment schedule,” he said.

As other opposition, as well as some ruling coalition MLAs, trained their guns on the PDD over power crisis in Kashmir, its minister in-charge Nirmal Singh said that Jammu also faces problem in summer and there are “some problems” in the transmission and distribution network.

He said the members are politicizing the crisis of power.

The remarks triggered an angry reaction from the opposition members who accused the government of being “incompetent” and “inefficient.”

In the meantime, opposition MLAs Majid Larmi, Ishfaq Jabbar and Altaf Wani stormed into the ‘well’ to protest against unscheduled power cuts in Kashmir.

“The speaker is not allowing us to speak on the issue (of power crisis),” they said, and entire opposition staged a walkout
