Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, has been actively monitoring the progress of the bridge, which is being constructed over the River Jhelum. The DC has conducted multiple site inspections and has consistently directed the executing agency to expedite the remaining work to ensure timely completion.

Once operational, the 127-metre span bridge will significantly ease traffic congestion by serving as a vital link between Noorbagh and Qamarwari. It is expected to reduce the heavy load currently borne by the existing Cement Bridge and improve connectivity in the city.

Officials informed the DC during his latest visit that the project, which has faced long delays, is now in its final stages. Local residents and commuters from adjoining areas are expected to benefit greatly from the enhanced traffic flow and reduced travel times.
