SRINAGAR: Noora Hospital Srinagar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) and Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners United Front (JKPUF) to facilitate preventive healthcare and access to selected medical services for members of the two organisations, with particular focus on pensioners and senior citizens.
The agreement provides for regular free preventive health check-up camps, assistance with appointment scheduling and special discounts on selected investigations, diagnostic services, procedures and preventive healthcare packages for eligible members.
The MoU was signed at Noora Hospital by its Managing Director, Manzoor Ahmad, and Abdul Qayoom Wani, Chairman of JKCSF and President of JKPUF.
Under the collaboration, the organisations will also conduct health-awareness programmes and specialist-led sessions on lifestyle diseases, cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, cancer awareness and early detection, kidney health, bone and joint disorders, nutrition and healthy ageing.
The initiative also envisages assistance for pensioners and senior citizens in navigating hospital services, including facilitating appropriate consultations and referrals.
Manzoor Ahmad said the agreement reflected the hospital’s focus on preventive healthcare and improving access to timely medical services, particularly for senior citizens.
Wani welcomed the agreement, saying it would provide members with greater access to preventive screening, medical awareness and healthcare services.
The parties will coordinate the health camps and awareness programmes through designated representatives under the agreement.
The MoU does not indicate a blanket waiver of treatment costs; the concessions specified in the agreement are limited to selected investigations, diagnostic services, procedures and preventive healthcare packages, while eligibility will apply to members of the two organisations.
