Srinagar

Normal life resumed across Kashmir today on Monday on the second day of the five-day relaxation, the longest called by the resistance leadership since the current uprising began in the Valley.

The resistance leadership while announcing the new calendar last Wednesday announced a new plan for the next two weeks till the end of this month.

All shops and business establishments have opened since early morning, while traffic is plying normally on all the roads in Srinagar, other major towns and on the inter-district routes.

The roadside vends have also set up even as shops and business establishments remain open, a practice that would continue for the next 3 days.

The Valley has been witnessing an uprising following the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with forces in Bemdoora area of Islamabad district in southern part of Kashmir.

The uprising paralysed normal life for more than five months now.
