SRINAGAR: Army on Wednesday issued the following statement regarding Hygam attack saying that militants fired at a Quick Reaction Team ( QRT) of Indian Army today afternoon.
Srinagar based army spokesman in a statement said that the QRT was moving from Baramulla towards Gulmarg on the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway near Trumgund Hygam crossing.
He said that army personnel sustained injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Soon after the attack, the entire area has been cordoned off and search operation is in progress to nab the attackers, said an army spokesman.
