SRINAGAR: An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight in the Chak Tapper area of Kreeri, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Saturday.
A senior police officer confirmed to GNS that one militant has been killed, though the identity is yet to be established as the gunfight is still in progress.
Yesterday, a joint team of the police and army launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area.
As the joint forces approached the suspected location, the hiding militants opened fire on them, prompting retaliation and triggering a gunfight.
