SRINAGAR: Police in Handwara area of north kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday have attached properties belonging to three accused in connection with a case registered in 2023 at Police Station Handwara under charges including murder, attempt to murder, arson and criminal conspiracy.
The action was carried out on Thursday in the presence of revenue officials, police said.
The properties belong to Gh. Rasool Bhat, son of Aziz Bhat, of Zachaldara; Abdul Samad Mir, son of Gh. Mohd. Mir, of Bawan, Zachaldara; and Shair Ali Khatana, son of Sawariya Khatana, of Butshangi, Zachaldara.
The attachment relates to FIR No. 198/2023, registered under Sections 307, 302, 436, 120-B and 121-A of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), Sections 2 and 3 of the EIMCO Act, Sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act, and Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act.
Police said the action formed part of legal proceedings in the case and was carried out in accordance with the law.
