The FIR (No. 05/2026) was registered by Cyber Police Station Baramulla under Sections 318(4) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 66(c) and 66(d) of the Information Technology Act.

The accused have been identified as Mohsin Ashraf Ganie, a resident of Gulshanabad, Baramulla, and Sahil Irshad, a resident of Khanpora, Baramulla, currently living at Chakloo.

According to the information on which the case was registered, bank accounts were allegedly being used to facilitate the movement of illicit funds. Such accounts can be exploited to conceal the origin and flow of suspicious transactions, complicating efforts to detect cyber-enabled financial offences.

Police said the investigation was underway to establish the extent of the alleged transactions, determine the roles of the accused and identify any other individuals or networks potentially linked to the case.

Baramulla Police have urged the public not to allow unknown persons to use their bank accounts, ATM cards or banking credentials in exchange for commission, warning that such arrangements could expose account holders to legal action.
