SRINAGAR: A seven-year-old student was killed after being struck by a landslide inside the premises of a private school in the Mawer area of Handwara on Saturday, officials said.
Officials said the deceased has been identified as Rehan Ahmad Dar (7), son of Reyaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Khudi Mawer and a student of Front Line School, Mawer.
The child came under a landslide that hit the school premises. He was immediately shifted to the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC), Qalamabad, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
