Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, called on NN Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here this evening.
As per a statement during their more than an hour long meeting, the Governor and the Northern Army Commander has discussed certain recent incidents of violence and related issues concerning internal and external ‘security’ management, infiltration from across the LoC, and the overall security scenario in the state. They have also discussed issues relating to the security of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The Northern Army Commander was accompanied by Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh, GOC XV Corps. This was Lt Gen Chachra’s first meeting with the Governor after he took over charge of the Northern Army Command on July 01, 2013.
