SRINAGAR

Rejecting the “petty politics” being played by Government of India and state government over the settling of Kashmiri Pandits in separate clusters in Valley, senior separatist leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah said such “anti-Kashmir” move and other conspiracies will be fought tooth and nail.

“We’ve time and again said that Kashmiri Pandits are welcome to their ancestral places and we’ll provide every possible support to them in this regard but will not allow the Indian and State governments to play petty politics over such issue,” Shah said in a statement .

“we’ll resist all these moves by RSS/BJP (separate townships for Pandits, settlement of West Pakistan refugees and issuance of Permanent Resident Certificates in schools) which are aimed at spreading communal tensions in the Valley and changing the demography of the state,” he added.

He further said, “we’re passing through a crucial phase of our struggle as our identity is at stake due to despicable schemes of communal elements but not a single conspiracy of RSS will succeed in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Terming the BJP’s policy towards Jammu and Kashmir as ‘anti-Muslim”, Shah said, “on one hand, Indian government has started an aggressive policy vis-à-vis return of Kashmiri Pandits to Valley which has given rise to serious apprehensions and on other hand, the so-called state government is expressing helplessness by adopting a criminal silence over the issue.”

Coming down heavily on BJP and its associated parties, Shah said they all are hell bent upon eroding the special status and unity of Jammu and Kashmir and are now openly promoting their communal agenda but “we’ll resist their wicked plans at any cost, with the help of our people.”

Commenting on the statements of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh and PDP leaders, Shah said they want to keep masses in deception. Shah warned India of massive public protests if it doesn’t stop pursuing its ‘communal’ and ‘anti-Kashmir’ agenda. He reiterated that West Pakistan Refugees are to be settled as per the guidelines laid down during partition of subcontinent and said the issuance of permanent resident certificates in schools is “undemocratic” and “irresponsible” plan “which are aimed at changing the demography of the state.”
